Fivio Foreign Says Kanye West Compared Him To JAY-Z After ‘Donda’ Verse

Fivio Foreign and Kanye West’s relationship has only grown since Fivio’s standout verse on “Off The Grid” from the Donda album. Not only did the album debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, it also gave Ye his ninth consecutive No. 1 chart topper.

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Leakers on Power 106, Fivio broke down his appearance on the record and revealed Kanye gave him a huge compliment after turning in his verse.

“I go Ye, who I remind you of? Who I remind you of?” Fivio recalls. “He like, ‘I don’t know, that’s a good question.’ The question went past so I guess we start eating or whatever. Then something hit him. He go, ‘I got it! Hov!’ I’m like, ‘Word? Hov?’ He say, ‘Hov!'”

The JAY-Z comparisons for Fivio tie together a bit of Brooklyn history between the two rap heavyweights.

Although Hov and Kanye’s relationship seems to be on better terms after the Roc Nation mogul’s verse on “Jail”, it remains to be seen whether the two actually come together for the rumored sequel to their 2011 joint album Watch The Throne.

Fivio Foreign Has Kanye West Working On His Album

Not long after Fivio’s “Off The Grid” verse became public, fans immediately wanted Fivio and Kanye to work together more. After one fan wrote the two needed more songs, Fivio responded Kanye would be responsible for his debut album.

    1. He didn’t tell the part of the story where Kanye farted immediately after making this statement, thus nullifying everything that was said…

    2. They didn’t tell u the part where Kanye didn’t pay that man for that verse tho..he just finessed him with the extinction level gas up…lol told him u remind me of hov and bounced with the verse and the bag he WAS gonna give him lol

    3. …ye7 dats jvst the final say…pre0ss u gat make me understand…fly two get aboard……shout out to u all…misses

    4. Definitely was a dope verse! And his flow and subject matter was reminiscent of Hov. Of course he didn’t sound like him or anything close but his flow and lyrics do remind me of the Hard Knock Life album when Jay and the artists featured were on this vibration. I hope he keeps this energy and his flow and lyrics stay this potent. Unfortunately I don’t have faith he will but I hope he does. Even the whackest rappers have a dope verse or two. Well see!!
