Patience is a virtue—this is the thesis of Hong Kong R&B singer-songwriter Gareth.T’s latest single, “speed limit,” out today (August 26) via Warner Music Hong Kong.

The 21-year-old ponders on his music career, sharing that he wrote the song shortly after getting signed to the major label and that he “felt that life for him at that moment was moving too fast.” The track underscores the anxieties and pressures that also come with growing up in Hong Kong, where “getting by is simply not an option.”

Helmed by WavyBoys, the accompanying music video stars Gareth.T as a humanoid “goat-to-be” going through the process of becoming the greatest of all time. Mentored by guitarist Teddy Fang, the impatient Gareth.T learns how to take things one step at a time and to trust the process. The video was shot at a goat farm on the outskirts of Cheung Chau, a rural landscape not usually depicted in the media.
