Bobby Shmurda Confirms Management Deal With Roc Nation

Bobby Shmurda’s route to releasing new music has differed from his peers who’ve previously spent extended time behind bars. In a new profile for the New York Times, the 27-year-old Brooklyn rapper revealed the next step in his plan to solidify his career post-prison – a management deal with Roc Nation.

Being heavily involved in his career, the “Hot Nigga” rapper has gained a greater outlook on life and is taking things more seriously than he did when he was in the streets heavily.

“He’ll ask questions and not just ask but actually comprehend,” Mike Brinkley, a senior vice president of artist management at the label said of Shmurda. “Meeting him for the first time, you can’t even fathom what he went through because he doesn’t wear it. He’s like, ‘I’m here to work, what do you need me to do?’”

Shmurda joins a hefty list of artists under the label’s management umbrella including Megan Thee Stallion, Meek Mill, Benny The Butcher, Big Sean, DJ Khaled, Jadakiss, The LOX and more.

    1. Bra, your career is over. You were a one hit wonder. Just bow out and do something else like fashion or modeling, acting, comedy, anything but rap cuz that’s what landed you in prison in the first place.

    2. Another so called street rapper signs to Rat Nation where the CEO is a DEA Informant!!! You can’t make this shit up!!

      1. Bet that dance was REAL popular with the bullies in the pen when he was locked up too lol That’s why they still call him Bobby Bitch (Pause) Then he gets released and he pretends all that didn’t happen but still exhibits suspect tendencies lol. He ain’t fooling anyone.

    3. Whenever these fake street thug dudes do time they can’t rap when they come out. If Shyne couldn’t come back when he did a classic LP from jail good luck to anyone else

      1. Yep I remember Shyne on Carter 4 at first I was like yo Shyne is going to kills this than you here his voice it’s like he forgot how to rap. Honestly, it was prob the worst comeback attempt I’ve seen. It sounded like a homeless old dude trying to rap over a good beat

    4. With the current culture, Im surprised Bobby hasn’t blown up. All these wack gay homo rappers out here gettin paid and Bobby just as wack and gay as the rest of em but cant get no respect. I feel bad for him.
