SHNTI reflects on relationships with her latest single, “L Word.” The Filipina rapper seeks clarity on seemingly different interpretations and intentions of men when it comes to romance, as she alludes to the “L word” to mean either love or lust—or both.

The Quezon City-based “femcee” has often tackled relationship dynamics in her music and has not been one to shy away from confronting sexist attitudes and rapping against victim-blaming with tracks like “haha tite” (“haha dick”).

SHNTI first broke out the hip hop scene in the Philippines in 2019 with her single, “goodie goodie.”
