Katy, TX

Prior to his tragic death on April 9, DMX was slated to perform at the Wildcatter Saloon in Katy, Texas, but now the bar is turning what was supposed to be his May 29 appearance into a tribute show. According to TMZ, his fiancée Desiree Lindstrom and their four-year-old child Exodus will be in attendance.

Lindstrom is slated to speak at the event and X’s 8-year-old daughter Sonovah Hillman Jr. will be performing as well. If you recall, Sonovah stole the spotlight at her late father’s celebration of life ceremony when she rapped while interpolating DMX classic “Slippin'” into her own song. She reportedly has about 20 songs ready to go.

“Whatever is on my mind, I just write about it,” the 8-year-old starlet told NBC DFWin a recent interview. “Rapping makes me feel powerful. Someday I want to own a mansion with 15 bedrooms.”

TMZalso reports that Ruff Ryders rapper Drag-On will be hitting the stage and closing out the tribute performance in honor of the Yonkers legend. The Wildcatter Saloon is hoping to have even more of X’s loved ones in attendance for the May 29 memorial concert.

DMX’s long-awaited eighth studio album is scheduled to be released on May 28, just a day shy of the Wildcatter Saloon’s event in Texas. Exodus is executive produced by Swizz Beatz and is expected to feature Griselda and the late Pop Smoke. Other rumored features include Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Usher and Alicia Keys.

“My brother X was one of the most pure and rare souls I’ve ever met,” Swizz relayed in a statement. “He lived his life dedicated to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure. This album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally.”
