Nick Cannon and Eminem’s complicated history stretches back over a decade when Slim Shady released “Bagpipes From Baghdad” in 2009. In one of his verses, Eminem takes a shot at Cannon and his then-wife Mariah Carey who he allegedly dated for a brief period of time.

The feud was resurrected in 2019 with the release of Fat Joe’s “Lord Above” single featuring Shady and Mary J. Blige in which Em raps, “I know me and Mariah didn’t end on a high note/But that other dude’s whipped, that pussy got him neutered/Tried to tell him this chick’s a nut job before he got his jewels clipped/Almost got my caboose kicked, fool, quit, you not gon’ do shit/I let her chop my balls off, too ‘fore I lost to you, Nick.”

From there, Cannon returned fire with not one but multiple diss tracks, including “The Invitation” and “Pray For Him.” Despite Cannon and Shady’s sordid past, the Power 106 radio personality can’t deny the man’s talent.

During Cannon’s new “World Famous Top 5” segment, he takes a look at who he believes has the Top 5 Flows in rap — and Eminem sits at the top.

“I gotta give it to him ya’ll,” he says. “Ain’t no hate in my heart. Marshall Mathers, ladies and gentlemen, Eminem. That dude can’t be contested when it comes to his flow. His wordplay is crazy but even how he puts them together. Salute to you king!”

As for the other four, Cannon’s list spans the spectrum of classic ’90s Hip Hop to more current groups. In the No. 5 spot sits Bizzy Bone of the Cleveland-bred rap legends Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Cannon explains, “Some say he started all this fast rapping melodic stuff. I know he would say it! Shouts out to Bizzy Bone.”

As for No. 4, that was a toss up between The Notorious B.I.G. and the Atlanta trio Migos, but Cannon ultimately gives it to Migos. “I don’t know if it goes to Takeoff, Quavo, or Offset, but they changed the game with it, you can’t denounce it,” he says.

Sitting at No. 3 is Bay Area pioneer E-40 and at No. 2 is the inimitable Snoop Dogg who he says is the “best to ever do it.” He continues, “We talked about Biggie’s slow flow, but the first person with the slow flow from my side of the world, that I’ve seen do it — and it was probably because he was high — Mr. Snoop Doggy Dogg. That flow is crazy, and it was sometimes all freestyle. Cats didn’t know that.”

KXNG Crooked and Royce Da 5’9 both declared the beef between Eminem and Cannon was over earlier this month. After Cannon took a photo with Royce, someone called Cannon the “enemy” to which Crooked replied, “They’re not enemies, it’s over.”

Royce then laughed off a photoshopped meme of him posing with other celebrities Shady had dissed in the past, saying, “Ok I deserve this. Listen… Please stop making these. These are too hilarious… Beef between @eminem x @nickcannon is water under the bridge… Thank you to @fatjoe for helping to make it happen… Let’s spread love y’all.”
