Tory Lanez released a surprise album called DAYSTAR on Thursday (September 24) that was primarily dedicated to clearing his name in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting incident. On the album opener “Money Over Fallouts,” the 28-year-old Canadian rapper flat out states he “ain’t do it.”
Naturally, all eyes diverted to the 300 Entertainment artist to gauge her reaction. But Megan was mum on the topic in the immediate wake of the project’s release and didn’t address the controversy on Instagram Live as she typically does — at least she hasn’t yet.
However, Megan appeared to offer a vague reference to the Lanez situation via Instagram on Saturday (September 26) as she plugged her recent Fashion Nova endeavor.

“Nothing REAL can be threatened,” she wrote in the caption. “oh yeah and remember when I said I was collaborating with @fashionnova to make jeans for tall women. These are the first samples. coming soon.”
On Sunday (September 27), Megan shared another Instagram post that seemingly included a subliminal message to Lanez and anyone else out there who has something negative to say.

The post included two photos of herself wearing her new iced-out “Fuck You” rings. She simply wrote “Mood” in the caption.
Megan was shot in July after a night out with Lanez and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kylie Jenner. Police arrested Lanez for felony possession of a concealed weapon, while Megan was taken to a local hospital where she underwent surgery to remove the bullets.

Although Megan didn’t initially identify the alleged triggerman, she eventually identified Lanez as the person who was responsible for her injuries during an Instagram Live session.
Since then, there have been several twists and turns in the story. First, a text message allegedly from Lanez to Megan blamed the incident on alcohol. Then last week, Megan’s team accused Lanez of launching a “smear campaign” against her. Her team believes someone has been crafting fake email addresses in an attempt to sway journalists into writing negative stories about Megan and Roc Nation.

Megan’s attorney Alex Spiro told HipHopDX at the time, “We have been made aware of manipulated text messages and invented email accounts that have been disseminated to the media in a calculated attempt to peddle a false narrative about the events that occurred on July the 12th. A smear campaign can’t change the truth.”

DX was targeted as part of the scheme and can confirm the email “promotions@livnightclubmiami” was created solely to accuse Roc Nation of encouraging LIV Nightclub to sue Lanez for an alleged beatdown at the Miami club last November.
But as Lanez notes on nearly every song on the 17-track DAYSTAR album, he’s innocent. Meanwhile, Megan might just be waiting for the right time to properly respond to the controversy.
