MTV films has signed a deal with Amaru Entertainment to co-produce a documentary, detailing the life of Tupac Shakur.
Amaru Entertainment, run by Pac’s mother Afeni, has said that this will be the only documentary produced about the rapper/actor, who was killed five years ago in Las Vegas. The film is due to be released in either the middle or end of 2002.
Amaru, along with Interscope Records, plans to release a soundtrack for the film, and MTV books, along with Pocketbooks, will release an accompanying biography. No word on when the album or book will hit shelves, but assume it’s around the same time as the film.
