Famous Dex is not taking well to fellow Chicago rapper FBG Duck’s murder.
Duck was gunned down in his hometown in broad daylight on Tuesday (August 4) in a shooting that also included two other victims. After hearing the news, Dex took to his Instagram Live where he opened up about how the death is affecting him amid an already trying time.
“Leave me alone,” he said. “Right now I’m going through a lot of shit. It’s lot of pressure been on me – it’s a lot of shit, bro. Every time I look up, somebody fucking dying from where I’m from or from where I’m at. It’s like I can’t win for losing. Got my kids, I had thought everything was gon’ be good.
“Two days later I get a call Duck gone. I don’t want to hear this, man. I don’t want to keep living through this shit, bruh. I wanna live for my kids, bruh. I’ma keep doing music and keep putting out the best music I can for my kids and my family and for my fans.”

According to reports, Duck was shot in the chest, groin and neck when four men opened fire on him while he was shopping on Oak Street, an area with multiple luxury retail stores. A 28-year-old woman who was also shot is in stable condition, while the third victim, a 36-year-old man, is said to be in serious condition.
Following a seizure on stage in November, Dex regrouped and released a new single with Tyga and Rich The Kid named “What I Like.” Talking to HipHopDX about the track in April, he revealed he was planning for a name change to better reflect his energy.
“I don’t even like to go with Famous Dex no more. I like to go with my real name: Dexter,” he said. “I love people. I’ve got a very good heart. Some take my kindness for weakness, but I just got a very good heart, man. I’m not perfect, but a very loveable person. I just love to have fun and be able to really just be myself. I don’t know how to change; I don’t know how to switch off being myself. I’d rather just stay myself. It’s just me.”

He has yet to fully implement the name change, however. Revisit the single below.
