After Kanye West tore into MTV for being shut out of the VMAs, it seems like MTV would rather focus on the positive than the negative. The music network released a statement regarding Kanye and his blowup as well as addressing the Britney Spears performance. But interestingly, MTV has completely avoided addressing the tirade in particular, rather the statement takes the high road and compliments Mr. West.
“MTV has a long and collaborative relationship with Kanye and we hope and look forward to continuing that meaningful relationship,” the statement read. “Kanye West is a visionary performer and he didn’t let his fans down at this year’s VMA’s. From his incredible renditions of ‘Stronger’ and ‘The Good Life,’ to the spectacular aerial shots from his multi-level suite which made for one of the grandest visuals of the night, the audience feedback on MTV.com has been overwhelming. In fact, he is the only artist to have three performances ranked in the top 15 on MTV.com.”
Although the statement does compliment his suite performance, Kanye was none too happy about having a suite instead of the main stage and addressed the entire concept on Hot 97 (you can check that out by Clicking Here). Rumor has it that Kanye actually wanted to have the suite performance and cited the intimate setting as the reason why.
Kanye West also spoke on MTV “ruining” Britney Spears by using her performance for ratings while knowing the troubled pop star wasn’t quite ready for the spotlight. MTV addressed this as well…

We’ll see if this means anything to Spears or West and keep you posted on their relationships with the network.
