Following 11 years with his present label, Ice Cube is set to leave Priority Records, after the release of his forthcoming “Greatest Hits” album. Following this album, Cube’s agreement with the west coast label will be complete, making him a free agent.
Cube believes that the time is right to find him a new and bigger label for 2002, which gives us the feeling that we will see more albums from the man yet. The motive for the switch is that Cube is interested in having bigger budgets when recording new albums and Priority just cannot battle with the likes of Def Jam.
Don’t wait for him to jump into the studio as of yet though, he is still currently filming the third release of his hit comedy movie, “Friday” as well as wrapping up the “All About The Benjamins” movie.
