Da Brat Explains Why She Kept Her Relationship With Jessica Dupart Quiet

After years of speculation, Da Brat finally confirmed her sexuality on Instagram after her fiancée Jessica Dupart surprised the veteran rapper with a new Bentley. During a recent conversation with The Ricky Smiley Morning Show, she explained why she kept their relationship quiet for so long.

“I always been an advocate from privacy pretty much to protect the interest of the other party involved because if you’re not used to this life and the scrutiny that come with it, it can break you,” she said around the 4-minute mark. “I’ve been talked about for way over 20 years or more so my coat of armor is pretty thick, so I learn what to say and what not to say.”

Da Brat added she felt uncomfortable sharing the details of her personal life because homosexuality wasn’t as accepted in the 90’s as it is now.

“I never confirmed anything because, you know, in the 90’s, it wasn’t cool, but when you get blessed and somebody love you like you never been loved before,” she said. “It’s like a whole different experience. With new levels, come new devils and they out there and coming for us, but we don’t care. We strong and we can get through anything together and I’m very happy to say I have someone like BB Judy.”

Dupart is the CEO of Kaleidoscope Hair Products. She presented the luxury car to the So So Def artist last week, which Da Brat revealed via Instagram.

“Never have I EVER,” she wrote. “Needless to say… I’ve always been a kind of private person until I met my heart’s match who handles some things differently than I do. Thank you baby @darealbbjudy for far more than this incredible birthday gift. I have never experienced this feeling. It’s so overwhelming that often I find myself in a daze hoping to never get pinched to see if it’s real so I can live in this dream forever. SEE @darealbbjudy page for the BEST SURPRISE EVER.”

    1. We’ve known since she came in the game just like Queen Latifah..You don’t have to lie to kick it.

    2. That shit still ain’t kewl. Jus another lie by the devil to trick gays into hell. I keep telling people it says it in the Bible gays are abominations.

    3. Being gay isn’t cool now, it’s just the media pushes LGBtHKYh crap 24/7 and play it like it’s ok. The gays are bold now because they run the media. Does anyone even care about Da Brat and who she bangs? Doubt it. She probably kept it quiet because nobody cared to push her into coming out. Don’t ask, don’t tell is a good road to follow. Keep your private life to yourself .

      1. Joos push the gay agenda to lower white birth rates. blacks becoming manipulated into being gay is just collateral damage – the real target is the white people of european descent, as every single one of them could be literally the next Hltler so the joos working overtime to genocide whitey.

    4. Their mate always put it out there as if they’re looking for acceptance from the world. If your relationship is working for you stop worrying about others opinion. Respect your partner’s choice of privacy. It doesn’t make the love any less. Why open the door of judgement from others as if it matters. Now everybody is in your business which creates problems without reason. Respect is everything and something money can’t buy. We already knew she was gay. What she does behind closed doors was her business and it should of stayed that way. It was her choice to make while being in the public eye. It has worked for her all these years. She knew it when she got in that relationship. Be careful of what you ask for because you just might get it. Now let’s see if you can handle it

      1. Its easy to say to not care what people think when not in the public eye. When you are a public figure, to a large degree, you depend on the public perception for your income. If or when people don’t like you, your art wont be supported as much. It makes sense to keep your private life away from the public. Especially if its a controversial one. Im glad she found her comfort.

          1. Are you gay… settle down homo…lol…you should be uniting your fellow gays in arms not bashing them. I guess somebody is mad that they were quarantined inside a YMCA or Banana Republic lol.

          2. Look who’s back! The moron who is happy with people vandalizing his property because graffiti is part of hip hop. ‘culture vulture’. lmao. You are the ‘dickhead’ here.

    5. Yeah but everyone already knew what she was into even in the 90’s. It’s good to see her happy because that is what truly matters.

    6. As long as she is happy. Life is too short. Just ignore those who think they know everything and who don’t have a life of their own.
