Jay Electronica and Joe Budden engaged in some lightweight Twitter beef on Tuesday (March 17) after the podcast host roasted Electronica for letting JAY-Z wash him on A Written Testimony.Electronica’s response was, “i never heard your albums bro. may Allah bless your career as a journalist.”
As Twitter exploded with reactions to their exchange, a video surfaced of Budden and Electronica in happier times, proving the Roc Nation artist was once a fan of the Slaughterhouse MC. In the clip, The Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee interviewed both MCs backstage at Budden’s show.
“I always knew who Joe Budden was, but the first time I ever met him was with Santos,” he said. “He had good energy. But I fucks with him as an MC because he ain’t on no pretend shit. He’s honest about his life … he a real nigga and he don’t give a fuck, so I like that.”
The interview is at least nine years old as Yee asked Budden, “Did Slaughterhouse sign to Shady Records yet?” Budden let Electronica answer, “We have a project together that we signed to Shady with,” to which Budden said, “Ooooh, bailed me out. Thanks Jay.”
