It’s going to take a lot more than a crackdown by the law to stop DJ Drama. Drama, aka Mr. Thanksgiving aka Barack ODrama, announced today the release of Gangsta Grillz 16. While the law may have tried to put a halt on Drama and the Aphilliates prowess, Drama returns back to the mixtape scene 6 months after the widely publicized raid on the Aphilliates office. Drama states that more needs to be done to protect the important resource known as the mixtape.
“All these artists and DJs who have benefited off the mixtape game and found success need to step up and take charge,” says Drama. “The mixtape game is too important for us to let it go to the wayside.”
Instead of backing down and taking a break from the mixtape game, DJ Drama will not only put out his 16th installment of Gangsta Grillz titled The Streets Been Waitin’– He will host the mixtape himself as well. No details as to when the mixtape will drop but expect contributions from Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane and others.
