Little Brother is back.
Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh have reunited for May The Lord Watch, their first album together since 2010. The duo’s 15-track LP doesn’t feature any production by original LB member 9th Wonder.

Little Brother’s return is in full effect. Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh have announced a new album titled May The Lord Watch, which is scheduled to drop at midnight.
The duo’s soon-to-be-released LP will be their first project together since 2010’s Leftback. The album is set to arrive just a few months after Phonte and Big Pooh revealed they had reformed Little Brother without producer 9th Wonder.
Little Brother has recently built up the hype for their reunion with a series of short documentaries. One detailed the making of their debut album The Listening. The other told the story of their impromptu performance at the 2018 Art Of Cool Festival.
May The Lord Watch is Phonte’s second release of 2019 following March’s surprise EP Pacific Time. The new Little Brother LP is Big Pooh’s first project since 2018’s collaborative album RPM with producer Focus…

have they confirmed its the album thats dropping tonight? might just be a single.
It’s confirmed. Entire LP will be out tonight. We’ll update with the stream once it drops.
I can’t wait!
My bday on 8/20!!!! Happy bday to me. LB is back!!
LB is back! Great album! Been waiting since I graduated college!
Forget streaming. I am buying this joint!! Can not wait for the styles to ooze forth. It will be interesting how they present themselves in this new era.
They killed off percy miracles. Has many ties to minstrel show.
Good album.
Thank goodness
The Lord is watching me pump your lil brother till there’s sh*t on my d*ck on some BRONSON sh*t
Dope ass album. Mature, grown man music. This will age like fine wine. The skits are hilarious too
Facts!
Can’t wait for the tour.
I need to know the producers!
Khrysis, Nottz, Focus, Black Milk produced most of the songs of the album. Doap!
“…Khrysis, Focus and Nottz, with more beats by Black Milk, Abjo, Devin Morrison, Blaaq Gold, and King Michael Coy…”
the lion’s share of production handled by fellow Justus League member and frequent collaborator Khrysis, Focus and Nottz, with more beats by Black Milk, Abjo, Devin Morrison, Blaaq Gold, and King Michael Coy.
That’s a super solid group. Wish 9th would have done a few tho.
It’s all star. Anyone whining about 9th not being there is a bot or dumb.
Great album. Nicest in a while. I wish u could have done same coverage for soul on ice 2…another great album somehow u don wanna promo it.
I like it..it’s not Minstrel Show soulful but it has some dope ass tracks. I wish the drums were better, clearly you can tell that it’s not 9th. Glad their back though
Dope, not missin’ 9th!
Factos!
Facts!
because you have no soul. Hiphop is dead because of people like you that see no difference in quality between top tier producers like 9th Wonder and randok beatmakers.
They should’ve called it a “Phonte and Big Pooh” LP. This is a bait and switch. THERE IS NO LITTLE BROTHER WITHOUT 9TH WONDER.
Do you feel the same way about Slum Village and ATCQ?
9th always had one foot out the door. This is still LB and it’s still fire. You’re dozing and unappreciative.
Fakty!
Nah they should have called it “The Most Boring LP In The History Of Sound”. Wake me up when these two lames stop trying to spit……….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
hey yangyangyang, 9th wonder isn’t even what he used to be man. His beats on those original LB albums far better than what he does now.. admit it!
You do realize that Phonte and Pooh have put out quite a few LB albums without 9th. At this point that have more LB projects out without him than with him. It would have been great if 9th had been a part of it but it ain’t that serious.
Little Brother done did it again! Still get some 9th with new Rapsody album hopefully in a few days!
9th don’t have to be apart of LB to contribute 1 or 2 beats… smh. Solid album but it’s not a true reunion without at least 1 9th beat.
True, but they still shine on their own.
Phonte flows be so ill. That’s drake daddy
Yup. “Don’t You Have a Man” birthed Drake. Along with 808’s.
First Nas, now Little Brother. The hip-hop gods smile upon us this day!
Nas?? He dropped today?
Nah, he dropped a few weeks ago, but it was an amazing album.
Greatest Hip Hop Album since the last greatest hiphop album, thought my boy 9th wonder would be greatly missed on this album but i was clearly wrong, these guys didn’t miss a step with they lay off.
Now: Illegal reunion album
Now this…….with an all star production line up would be crazy
YES!! I thought this was just going to be an announcement but it’s already here!
Wow I did not see this coming! Love it before I’ve heard it. LB in the house!
Man.. this is so refreshing. album sounds like Gold… lawd. and shout out to Devin Morrison!
Damn Jay?
Hell yeah!! Just what I needed right now! With Rapsody dropping this Friday, I’m going to be set with new music for a while.
They have grown as artists so much that they dont really need 9th anymore. As long as they have maintained a brotherhood outside of little brother that’s all that matters. Cant wait to listen…
The beats on the album are better than the beats on any album produced by 9th in the last 5 years. I don’t care if it was done by Nottz, Khrysis, Black Milk or some guy I never heard of. The beats are dope, period.
And I’m not hating on 9th beats because I still tend to like his work (not as much as 10nyears ago though). But here we have the proof that a combination of producers can yield better results that an album fully produced byb9th Wonder. We are on 2019, not in 2005 and 9th is still very good, but he is no longer crazy good in my opinion
This
LB delivered on this one. These brothers did not lose a step! The chemistry, skits, beats and rhymes are on point. Well worth the wait. Can’t wait to see them on stage at Hieroday in Oakland.
THIS ALBUM IS WEAK, UNINSPIRED, AND A MISSED OPPORTUNITY OVERALL. SITTIN’ ALONE IS THE BEST TRACK. EVERYTHING ELSE WASN’T EXACTLY WACK, BUT TERRIBLY AVERAGE. 3/5
Troll of the Year! You a funny cat! ? You probably hate babies and puppies too. ? ?
Well said man cats are afraid to admit when things are not up to standard. I have cats calling this a classic just because they missed them.
I need to listen more but it’s a good album nothing classic or incredible. The beats could have been better overall, but it’s a good listen. No wack songs so that’s good, but nothing really stands out either. 3/12 / 5
Total fire!!! No skips needed either. 90s feel with a now swing. They had to do this to prove they didn’t ‘NEED’ 9th to make a dope ass album! Will be on repeat for the foreseeable future. That’s what NC sounds like!!
Finally listened to the whole joint. With all the skits, it felt like a direct sequel to the Minstrel Show. Love all the callbacks to that album. Phonte and Pooh’s chemistry is undeniable. The album is dope grown man rap. Just wish some of the songs would have been a little longer.
what are ya saying!?!? 9th is still one of the GOATs!! This album is FIRE and credit due to all the people who made it FIRE, but don’t discredit 9th just because he’s not on this album. Artists grow and change like every other human, so show some respect
This album is tight and mature just what we need finally! Thanks LB
