The Wu-Tang Clan is back with an EP inspired by Showtime’s Of Mics And Men documentary series. The project features the first new batch of Wu-Tang music since 2017’s The Saga Continues compilation, which was produced by their longtime DJ and affiliate Mathematics.
The seven-track EP includes contributions by RZA, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, GZA, Masta Killa and Cappadonna. The project also contains skits from Nas and Cheo Hodari Coker, the creator of Netflix’s Luke Cage.

The EP serves as a soundtrack to Showtime’s Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics And Men series, which debuted last Friday (May 10). The four-part documentary will be airing new episodes on the network throughout May, but the entire series is available right now on demand.
“Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men is the definitive docuseries that explores and reveals our careers spanning over 25 years,” RZA said in a press release. “The accompanying soundtrack is a great dose of some of those Men back on those Mics again.”

The Wu-Tang Clan will be releasing new music on Friday (May 17). The legendary group has revealed plans for an EP inspired by Showtime’s Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics And Men documentary series, which premiered last Friday (May 10).
“You’ve seen episode 1 of the Wu documentary by now (and if you haven’t, what were you doing last weekend), now listen to the music inspired by the series,” the group announced on social media. “On Friday, we’re coming with a new Wu-Tang EP from @36Chambers and Mass Appeal, so let your boss know you’ll be in late to work. #wutang #wutangclan #ofmicsandmen #36chambers.”
Wu-Tang haven’t released a project together — at least for public consumption — since 2014’s A Better Tomorrow. Their rare Once Upon a Time in Shaolin album, which was created by Wu-Tang affiliate Cilvaringz, was sold at auction in 2015. Controversial businessman Martin Shkreli, who was later convicted on securities fraud charges, bought the lone copy for $2 million.
More recently, all of the living Wu-Tang members except U-God contributed to a 2017 compilation titled The Saga Continues. The LP was put together by the group’s longtime DJ and producer Mathematics.

I cringe when i see EP instead of LP, but anything from these guys is good!
Ya but better than just a single
Hell yeah, can’t wait till Friday
Throw your W’s up
Let’s be honest here…These cats have not put out anything of substance since 36 chambers/Wu Tang Forever…dodon’t expect this project to be anything special….trust me….Mark my word JAck!!!!
They have put out a lot of great work since forever. Supreme clientele 421 day after both red and meth albums only built for Cuba. Lunch 2 capadona first joint. Fishscale more fishscale the W was good iron flag alright. Even last two Wu ablums were good. All of substance
Yes, many members had good solo albums. But cmon. Are you really gonna say Wu has more great albums than the first 2? If so, yoyr lying to yourself. A better tomorrow, or whatever that album was called, was a terrible snooze fest. Wutang was the opposote of a snooze in their prime. I’m gonna guess this EP will also he dull. I love early wutang, but as a fan, I have been disappointed for a while.
Finally, somebody that agrees with my take!! I’m a huge fan don’t get me wrong but year after year I just keep waiting for that old WU and its always the same old dull stuff with a nice song here or there!!!! Just saying-Phil
Not that old Wu but it’s still better than the crap that’s out today
And you have heard loads of classic hip hop albums the last 10 years!!!!!!
The W and ironflag are good not as good as first two but those are some of best Hiphop albums ever made.
That’s a severe auditory issue you have there. As a collective group, it’s been rough waters but their side projects have been have been dope. The Saga Continues just came out last year and that was HARD. I’d fill up this whole page with shit from the last 10 years that have been heat.
Excited to hear it!
What’s an EP nowadays that an LP is mostly 7-8 songs with a duration of 27 minutes?!?
Blame that on the fans and how music is consumed today. When people start showing more appreciation to the artist they’ll be more motivated to make albums longer than 30 minutes. The attention span is very low now, and artist are competing with peoples phones, short video clips and memes. This is a unfortunate fact.
Be dope if they put out an EP with each episode,
Culminating into a full length album.
Just sayin..
Funny – Wu tang clan albums and solo lp’s are the only things i’m listeing lately. Just out of nowhere i got a mood to refresh all of those dope albums and i really enjoyed that. Now i listen to all of those wu tang affiliates like wu syndicate, or sunz of man. Wu tang forever. Timeless music.
Killarmy had some good albums too
The greatest rap group of all time
NWA are the greatest, Wu Tang the best, maybe. BTNH the alternate choice for both best and greatest.
You’re right. If G-Unit had more albums the quality of Beg for Mercy, Elephant in the Sand, and Return of the Body Snatchers, Wu would have some competition tho.
The GOATs and it’s not even close
Kunt
Then don’t listen to it
Always good news to hear of new Wu Tang music. Wu Tang forever.
does any one like both styles of rap
No Meth.
WU TANG CREW AINT REAL HIP HOP
On some real shit, I think it makes sense to do EP’s over full albums. It is hard to make 12-16 amazing songs that go together plus you look at an album (say Jay’s Vol. 2 album) that has 6-8 bangers, you as a listener dont even bother with the rest so you might as well not waste time, energy and money on 16 when you could drop two EP’s a year and still have the same effect
Arguably the greatest rap group of all time. Yet, far from the greatest in terms of making group albums………
No Meth…no Deck…No U-God, and GZA on a skit?! I’ll reserve judgement, but not jumpin like a Raptors fan over this.
No Meth…no U-God….No Deck….GZA on a skit…a SKIT! Gonna reserve judgement, but not jumpin’ up and down about it like a raptor fan.
I just wanted to hear the full track with meth which was at the end of episode 1 of mics & men. But should of known it wasn’t gonna be on this ?
Where is Deck?
Your mom’s suck too and I don’t see your bum ass dad complaining you bitch
Kinda’ figured no U-God with the temporary contractual issue. But no Deck? No Meth? After the last Mathematic’s album that RZA hijacked for Wu Tang LLC, this seems like some more nonsense.
Don’t tell me Math got jacked!
no worries, Wu Tang is for the children
where’s wally.
Good to see the tracklist and I’m feeling the first and second single. They both have different musical directions and content. I wonder what is up with keeping the production credits under wraps? DJ Scratch produced “On That Shit Again”.
I have been looking for producers credits, especially for “On that shit again”. I have been saying “I’ll be damned if this isn’t a DJ Scratch beat”?!….Do you know for sure he produced that track?
Where is the new album? I heard allah math is the producer.
Old heads are excited for this mediocre EP?
You younging….go listen to the old stuff this EP boring ain’t a good representation on how good WU really was….
R.I.P. ol’ dirty bastard.
you wack
… review this EP**** carefully.
This not even a Wu EP. I don’t fuck with it
No Meth?/// WTF..?
This album is banging
Yeah I have to agree it’s time to put this WU Tang thing to bed..they have worn the wheels off this shit and time to just reminisce now of the good old days cuh….just saying_phil
Album is wack
i rather listen to the old heads instead of ur mumble shit rap
Kendrick and Drake are old heads, these clowns are fossils.
As a huge Wutang fan, I’ll be HONEST, and tell Y’all to skip this album. It’s boring as hell. Sleepy music. Wutang was once the hypest rap group of all time. Some of them have great solo work still, but this album doesn’t even have the whole team, just like the last one Rza dropped. Lame, and only STANS will say it’s great.
It’s annoying when fans can’t admit when the music goes downhill. It happens with the majority of great artists. Robert Plants music today doesn’t touch the ranks of Led Zeppelin, Jayz is junk compared to the 90s, Eminem is talented, but makes terrible sounding music, unlike the late 90s and early 2000s, where he made some of the most timeless hiphop tracks of all time, Dr Dre is terrible these days, with hsi features on Anderson Paaks album sounding junky, and Compton Soundtrack album being decent music, but very underwhelming for Dr Dre. My point is, this album is boring. Nothing special at all. Slow paced. Sleepy. No great story lines. I never listened to Wutang for stories, but for fun flows and good sounds. 36 chambers and Wutang Forever are the only 2 great albums Wutang has. The majority of their Wutang albums are crappy. I’m saying this as a dissapointed fan. Be honest with yourselves.
I love what Wutang has given us, but being honest, most of their music is boring junk. Their first 2 albums are some of the best hiphop group albums ever. But, they can’t pull that off anymore. I wish people, and Wutang Clan themselves would stop milking and destroying their legacy. Please Wu Tang members, stick to solo albums. That’s why this EP lacked so many members. They don’t want to be a part of it.
