Wu-Tang Clan Now Has Their Own District In Staten Island

Wu-Tang Clan is forever, especially in New York City. A district in their stomping grounds of Staten Island a.k.a Shaolin has been named after the legendary group.

Lawmakers unveiled the Wu-Tang Clan District, which was approved in a unanimous vote last December, during a ceremony in the Park Hill neighborhood on Saturday (May 4). Councilwoman Debi Rose detailed the decision to honor the Hip Hop icons in a series of tweets.

“The Wu-Tang Clan District is a celebration of their inspiration to the world — and a celebration of their home, Shaolin,” she wrote. “The Wu-Tang Clan turned their experiences growing up here into something that now resonates with people all over the world, with young people who live in urban settings, young people whose neighborhoods are underserved, young people who face economic and social challenges.”

Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck and Cappadonna were among the Wu-Tang members to share photos and video of the unveiling via social media.

“Thank you for making us who we are,” reads a post on the group’s official Instagram account.

      1. Wu Tang Clan is a singular entity, thus reserved for the has’s…multiple clans = have

    1. Not everybody without a record is a snitch. Just cause you don’t have a record don’t mean you’re not real. Some of us hustled smart and didn’t get caught. Just a little food for thought.

    2. Nice! Big ups!
Mariners Harbor should be named as the Force MDs district, Roxbury/Brabant

    3. The dumbing down of America has gone full ghetto mode. First Bathhouse Barrack gets a street re-named in his disgraceful honor, now this .

      1. Russia never sleeps without hate. Go on with your degrading bad self lol. It’s set in stone. Get over it and find something else to fuel your anger. System Island will sleep, and continue to do so, peacefully.

    4. Shout out to Debi Rose. Everyone that voted, and yes, the Wu! Recognition of those that contributed to the culture, and continue doing so, should never go unnoticed. This also goes out to other artists that contribute to the culture, or did so. It’s because of every one of you that I fell in love with hip hop in the first place. Let’s not forget the OG’s that set up the blueprint, so that others may follow. Immortalizing them with an instance like this goes a very long way…SUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

        1. “Google motherfucker use it dummy “…….In other words you have no idea what you’re talking about. 5% lame
