The annual Academy Awards will go down without a host for the first time in three decades. According to ABC News, ABC Entertainment PR and an Academy spokesperson confirmed the information on Tuesday (February 5), months after Kevin Hart’s departure.

The comedic actor stepped down from his hosting duties last December once several old homophobic tweets resurfaced online. Although Hart eventually apologized, during an episode of Good Morning America, he said he was done talking about it.

“There’s no more conversation about it,” he said. “I’m over that, I’m over the moment.”

The last time the Oscars didn’t have a host was in 1989 when Allan Carr decided to have more presenters instead of a proper host. [apple_news_ad type=”any”]
