With the two sharing a deeply profound interest in “slaughter”, it is no wonder why 21 Savage and Mortal Kombat seems like a (get ready for the cliché) match made in heaven.
During The Game Awards this past Thursday (December 6) in Los Angeles, MK creator and Netherrealm Studios head Ed Boon surprised eager fans with the highly anticipated debut of the first trailer for the forthcoming Mortal Kombat 11. The gleefully gory trailer also premiered a new track from 21 Savage titled “Immortal.”
The visuals show MK legends Raiden and Scorpion brutally beat the living shit out of each other (because it wouldn’t REALLY be MK if they weren’t) in a desolate, stormy courtyard resembling the one from the original Mortal Kombat. As the two squares up over 21 Savage’s new banger, Raiden kills Scorpion, only for a “vintage” Scorpion to reappear and FINISH HIM!
While one could expect “Immortal” to be included on the official Mortal Kombat 11 soundtrack come next year, it’s a likelihood that the record will appear on 21 Savage’s forthcoming sophomore release, I Am > I Was.
