HipHopDX Premiere

Former Def Jam Recordings and Epic Records artist Swift first came up under the wing of Akon via his Konlive Distributions label. From his single “Pull Up” to collaborations with notable artists such as Quavo, Yung Joc, Young Jeezy and Jim Jones, the Atlanta transplant continues capitalizing off the momentum with his new visual for “Elevate.”

Directed by Terrius Mykel, the video finds the Atlanta transplant reflecting on his life over a slow, melodic beat as he encourages his fans to stay focused and not worry about what the next man is doing.

The track comes from Swift’s latest project, Worth The Wait, which was released on Tuesday (November 27). Boasting 15 tracks, the album delivers more of the North Carolina native’s R&B-flavored rap and is peppered with two comedic skits — “Reflection” and “Henny & Chicken Wings.”
