If you have ever listened to hip-hop, chances are you’ve heard something recorded at New York’s D & D Studios. The legendary recording studio, founded by partners Doug Grama and David Lotwin, has hosted such acts as Gang Starr, Biggie, Nas and Jay-Z, and now its own spin-off record label will be distributed across the US.

Grama has signed a deal that will see Red Distribution distribute the D & D Record label, adding to its current distribution roster that features the Loud, Artemis and Ministry of Sound labels.

The first D&D title distributed by Red will be the QNC single Gotta Give. D & D also has plans to release a follow-up to 1995’s D & D Project, which featured DJ Premier (who records all his music at D & D), KRS-ONE, Jeru, Fat Joe and others. The new comp has the working title D & D Project 2002 and is supposed to feature artists like Da Beatminerz, Easy Mo Bee, Ruck, Sadat X, Big Daddy Kane, Guru, Alchemist, RA the Rugged Man and others.
