It’s official. Cross Patton — also known as Big Boi’s son — has decided where he’s going to continue both his education and football career. Patton’s proud papa took to Instagram on Saturday (October 20) to share video of his son committing to the University of Oregon.

“I just want to thank my family: mom and my dad, coach Davis, my football team,” the 185 lbs. running back said. “With that being said, I want to announce that I committed to the University of Oregon.”

In the caption, the Outkast luminary wrote, “My Son @crosspatton #18 Committed to the Oregon Ducks !!!! #RunningBack #ScholarAthlete #GoDucks.”

According to ESPN, Patton fielded scholarship offers from other schools, including Butler, Columbia and Division II Seton Hill.

Daddy Fat Sax has played a integral role in Patton’s football career over the years and is clearly excited about Patton’s next chapter.

“Congrats son!” he wrote in another post of his son. “We are so proud of u! #18 @crosspatton Keep Pushing. The world is yours! Thanks to All the Coaches and @realcoachttmp #TmpMafia #GoDucks @uoregon.”

In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Big Boi opened up about what it’s like watching his sons grow up.

“It was great [seeing his son go to college],” he said. “You feel like you completed something. My daughter’s about to graduate in December from Auburn and then my son goes to school in New York. And my baby boy, this is his last year. He’s a senior and he’s doing really good, one of the top running backs in the country. I just feel good that me and my wife did a great job as parents, and it’s time for that empty nest.”

Big Boi is currently working on finishing an updated version Boomiverse and has plans for another solo album.

“I’m always working, so, I mean I got another project that I’m working on now too,” he said. “It’s a big batch of records that I’m just finished up, so I don’t know all of what it’s going to be yet. We’re going to start trickling it out, little bit-by-little bit after we finish wrapping up this Boomiverse business.” [apple_news_ad type=”any”]
