Big Boi and his 9-piece band were the latest guests on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.
Throughout the nearly 13-minute performance, the Outkast luminary performed three songs, including “All Night” from his third full-length solo album Boomiverse, and the Outkast classics “So Fresh, So Clean” and “The Way You Move” off of the duo’s Speakerboxx/The Love Below album.
The Hip Hop legend has been staying busy. In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Daddy Fat Sacks talked about The Liberation Tour with pop goddess Christina Aguilera, which kicked off on September 25 in Hollywood, Florida.
Big Boi joined her on September 30 in Washington, D.C. and will be performing on select dates only.
“I guess they needed some excitement, like a heavy hitter to go out with her and they know I’m known as a festival killer. Any time I step on that stage, I just try to burn it up, man. My manager gave me a call and was like, ‘Would you want to go on tour with Christina?’ And I was like, ‘Hell yeah!’ It just worked out, it worked out.
“As long as I was able to — my son plays football — take those Friday night lights nights off. I think I’m only missing like one football game. This is his last year of high school, so they were able to work around that. We just made it make sense.”
Big Boi wraps up his dates with Aguilera on November 13 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
