HipHopDX Premiere

California duo Moonshine Bandits — comprised of Dusty “Tex” Dahlgren and Brett “Bird” Brooks — have recruited MC Berner for the new track “Gold Rush.” The track comes from their forthcoming album of the same name.

“This is a California anthem and our version of the Wild West,” Big Tex tells HipHopDX. “Out here on the West, we aren’t just about surfboards and Hollywood. We have more than just that. We wanted somebody that has a big name that was from Cali, so we reached out to Big Bern. He cut his vocals and sent them back to us the same day we sent him the song. We are stoked to have him on it.

“We wanted that old school West Coast sound on the production and Burn County nailed it. It’s something you can cruise down the road in an old school drop top Caddy, a lifted up bowtie Chevy or a chromed out Harley. We will eventually do a ‘Gold Rush’ remix and reach out to Snoop, Too $hort, B-Real and E-40.”

Gold Rush is expected to arrive on October 5.
