An album leak has forced Lupe Fiasco to alter his DROGAS Wave rollout. The skilled wordsmith has announced his seventh album will now drop on Friday (September 21) instead of September 28 as previously announced.

“Due to the leak we pushing up the album release date of DROGAS WAVE to Friday September 21st,” he wrote on Twitter.

Lupe reacted to the leak on Tuesday night (September 18) by asking Genius to remove the album’s lyrics from its platform. The site quickly obliged by taking down the pages.

      1. One loser looking up to the king of losers? Makes sense to me. Lupe still has nightmares of being murdered by King HOV on “Pressure”. (waits for “at least he didn’t get murdered by Eminem on his own shit” corny rerun ass reply)

    1. A lot of Nikki Jean features which is cool because she’s amazing. I’m looking forward to Mural Jr. and ‘King Nas’ the most. Didn’t see that coming, even if (as I believe) Nas is Lupe’s favourite rapper?

    2. Didn’t this ass clown retire? Why is he still putting this garbage out? Anyway DRUGAS LIGAS >>> Drogas Wave. DROOGIE BOOGIE BAYBEE!

    3. Tetsuo and Youth is a classic. I still listen to it daily and hear new things everytime. DROGAS Light was a disappointment by comparison. Hope he steps it up again for this one.

    4. I have to say I really admire your consistency to stay in this nonsensical trolling character.. it’s been a few years now I think and you keep it fresh. Kudos.

    5. Food and liquor/the cool was Lupe at his absolute best. Everything else has been corny. Not trash, just corny. One point he was way too whiney and preachy, other times just simply acted like he wasn’t even trying anymore or giving a damn. Tetsou and youth had some good songs. Some Very corny bars as well. I do, though, think that WAVE is going to be good. Reminiscent of the cool. That hailie selassie song is already out and although it’s considered boring by today’s standards the lyrics and everything else is fire.

          1. I guessed it went over your head. He’s mocking the critics saying he is so smart but smells his own farts. Narcissism on narcotics.

            1. Bruh Lupe is one of the greatest Mcs of all time. His lyrics are so intelligent that people just dont understand him. He refuses to dumb down for dumb asses

            2. No, it didn’t go over my head. Smh I swear that’s every Lupe fans comeback. ?‍♂️ I just think it’s corny. Look, if you love tetsou and youth, good for you..enjoy it. But it’s trash to me. Madonna. Deliver. Chopper. Magi. All songs that 06 Lupe would of murdered. Instead we get some corny ass bars and some concepts you guys think are genius. Bitch, you want a genius Lupe concept, listen to Lupe the killer. Or glory. Or steady mobbin. Or heat under the baby seat,
That’s the Lupe I listen too

          2. You said corny bars Nicky. Not one bar. Give me some more. I’m not gonna defend it. However, Listencloser is correct about the analysis. Sidenote. So you’re just gonna tag corny on the whole album because of some bars you thought was corny? I mean, Eminem said “you’ve been working at this plant so long you’re a plant” on 8 mile but that don’t mean I find the whole movie to be corny.

    6. So here’s a quick recap of Lupe’s final three albums. First he announced in 2016 that by the end of that year he would release three: Drogas, Drogas Light, and Skulls. These were supposed to be his final projects. He was understandably unable to get them released that quickly due to label politics or whatever, and apparently got frustrated and in December of that year said they were all cancelled and he was officially retired. Then two months later in February 2017 he released Drogas Light. Now in September 2018 he’s doing Drogas Wave; I guess the original “Drogas” got cancelled or just a name change. So we’re finally about to have two out of the three. Hopefully the last one isn’t too far off. (Personally I didn’t like Drogas Light, but a lot of people did, so whatever)

        1. What a lot of people dont know about light was that is was just an album that he wanted to have fun with. Either songs he did and didnt put in other albums or songs just for fun like jump. It wasnt supposed to have a meaning

        1. Thanks for telling me what I already did…genuis….Lasers and everything after been trash anyway….i threw that shit out the window..mjust like your comment

          1. What kind of lame ass person wastes their time and energy commenting on something they don’t like. Apparently Androi13. Life is too short my dude.

    7. Fake! How does an album leak in 2018 like its 2003. It’s all streaming these days….. did you give a thumb drive away with the songs on?

    8. At WAV files right now. So far so good!!! Fucking dope. That slave ship interlude gave me goosebumps. Manila and drogas was dope. And that intro fitted perfect with all the storms wordlwide right now. Crazy.

    9. Incredible Album: King Nas, WAV Files, Down, Cripple, Happy Tumbuck2 Day are probably my favorite tracks after initial listen.

    10. Amen! Amen!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMENNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! Yaaaaaas! Now the remaining Ye albums/ collabo s, carter v, maybe a wu album and y’all can keep the rest of 2018!!!!’

    11. This is by far the best album of the year so far. I don’t see how anything is going to top it. This is arguably another classic for Lupe.

      1. Album fire. Aptly that’s a bold statement tho. To much fire came out this year.
This is challenging NASIR and DAytona for me. The Book of Ryan and Victory Lap also are great. KOD is good too. This is up there with Daytona and NASIR for sure.

        1. Sorry man, but those albums are not even in the same stratosphere besides The Book of Ryan. Lu & Royce is the best thing I’ve heard this year

    12. unbelievable lyricism with the beats to match. i didn’t think i’d be saying this, but this is right up there with the cool and f&l

    13. It’s way too deep. I gotta give it another listen or 4. I hate when rappers try to be so deep til you just don’t understand it

    14. OKAY! This is what I came for! Finally some hip-hop that keeps my brain cells running. Respect to Lupe for keeping it real. Album is an 8, might give another listen for final rating.
