Wu-Tang rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard will release his third album The Trials and Tribulations of Russell Jones March 5.

Most of the music was recorded last fall when he was a fugitive from a court ordered drug rehabilitation program in California. He was picked-up by authorities on the West Coast in November and has been locked-up ever since. Method Man, Big Syke, Too Short, C-Murder, and E-40 have guest appearances on the LP. D3 Entertainment is releasing the project since Ol’ Dirty completed his contract with Elektra which, released his 1995 debut Return To The 36 Chambers, as well as 1999’s N***a Please and a best of collection last month The Dirty Story: The Best of ODB.

Last week a Los Angeles Superior Court judge sentenced him to two years in prison for violating probation by leaving the rehab center, but the term will run concurrently with the two- to four-year sentence he is serving in New York for a crack cocaine conviction. He also received credit in the Los Angeles case for roughly a year of jail time already served. ODB’s attorney, Peter Frankel, said that if all goes well the rapper may be released by the time Trials and Tribulations hits shelves, possibly via a work-release program or other options.
