Reports came in today that an entrepreneur is trying to corner the market on urban social networking with a website called blocksavvy. Backed by Damon Dash , the site combines the personal profiling of myspace with the virtual spaces of secondlife.com. Registered users can build a personal profile, decide where they want to live and do whatever they wish with $5,000 in virtual currency, called “savvydollars.” Theere will be an e-commerce portion of the site (that is still being figured out). Dash and the sites creator say this site will be different because it was created with brands, sponsorships, and advertisers in mind.
