Veteran LA hip-hoppers DJ Quik, Coolio, Suga Free, Hi-C and Chill (Compton’s Most Wanted) have a new home called Bungalo Records.
The new record label will be run by the man who founded it, Paul Ring, the former president of Private Eye Records. It will be distributed by Universal Music and will host sub-labels like DJ Quik’s Euponic Records. Ring says that retail and radio support are already in place, and that the artists will have a great deal of creative control over their work.
Quik and Coolio are scheduled to release the label’s first material at the beginning of next year. Be sure to expect a compilation not far on the horizon either.
