Los Angeles, CA

Trey Songz jumped on Twitter shortly before his arrest on Monday (March 19) to deny allegations of domestic violence.

Songz — who is accused of hitting a woman at a party that took place over the NBA All-Star weekend last month — says the allegations are purely for the “personal gain” of his accuser, a woman named Andrea Buera.

The Virginia singer-songwriter surrendered to police a short while after posting his tweets early Monday morning.

Songz — born Tremaine Neverson — was released from custody a few hours later after posting a $50,000 bond, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Inmate Information Center.

The 33-year-old is next due in court on April 9.

During a press conference earlier this month, Buera recalled what she believes happened on February 17.

“I was attending an afterparty when Trey began yelling at me, choking me, punching me, and ultimately he knocked me to the ground,” she said. “While I was on the ground, he continued punching me and he did not stop until his security guard pulled him off of me.”

“Trey, I’d like an apology,” Buera added. “I want you to get help, and although I am not your first victim … I’d like to be your last.”
