Fabolous was charged with criminal posession of a weapon and
possesion of a defaced weapon Tuesday. The arrest was made just hours
after the Brooklyn rapper was shot in the right thigh during an ambush
in New York. He wa released on $50,000 bond on Wednesday and his lawyer
maintains Fabolous denies any of the weapons in question belonged to
him.
“Sooner or later, we feel the
investigation will be redirected and he will be viewed as a victim of a
crime rather someone who was involved in a crime,”
attorney Alberto
Ebanks
told MTV.com.

The two felony charges
resulted from police pulling over the speeding vehicle fleeing the
scene of the shooting, en route to get Fabolous, who was bleeding
profusely, to the hospital. Also charged in the case were the three men
traveling with Fabolous, all reportedly residents of Fabolous
Bedford-Stuyforsant neighborhood.
Ebanks told sources the felony charges, which could carry a sentence of two to seven years, will likely be dismissed.
