Following Tuesday’s (December 12) special election vote in Alabama, a majority of those in the Hip Hop community celebrated after Democrat Doug Jones’ win over and Republican (and accused child molester) Roy Moore for a U.S. Senate seat.

The 49.9% vs. 48.4% win in the typically deep red state specifically drew plenty of response from rappers in the Southeast.

Atlanta rapper Killer Mike, known for his political activism, celebrated the win, but also made it known that Democrats need to put in work for black people.

Other reactions came from El-P, 2 Chainz, Big Boi and T.I. and more.

Proud of my neighbors in Ala. Power to the People!!!! Right on to the Real. #USorELSE

Jones’ win also set off a series of “Doug Jones WHO?” jokes across Twitter timelines.
