Hip-hop has already more than shown itself worthy of praise in response to the September 11 terrorist attacks, with the likes of Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Snoop and many others offering donations, and now MCA Records is giving back as well.
The record label is hosting an on-line auction on its website, www.MCArecords.com, giving the public the chance to purchase memorabilia autographed by its artists. All proceeds from the auction will go to the United Way September 11 Fund.
Some items up for bids include Timbos autographed by the Roots’ Black Thought, a shirt, belt shoes, and hat autographed by Shaggy, a drum cymbal autographed by ?uestlove, and jeans, a blouse and sunglasses autographed by Mary J. Blige.
