Muchmusic, Canada’s music video network, announced Thursday that they will cancel their Video Music Awards because of the recent tragedies in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

“It is a time of uncertainty, a time to mourn, and to collect our thoughts and prayers. Out of respect for the victims and their families, Muchmusic has chosen to cancel this, the 12th edition of the annual event- and return in September 2002,” said Muchmusic’s Vice-President David Kines.

The show was scheduled for September 23rd at the Muchmusic studios in Toronto. There were supposed to have been performances by a ton of bands, including Outkast and
Baby Blue Soundcrew, Kardinall Offishall and Jully Black.
