Cam’Ron yesterday declared that he’d rather go to jail than cooperate with investigators over his shooting in Washington D.C. back in October.
“The D.C. police are putting pressure on the New York police,”Cam told reporters at a news conference on Wednesday (1/25). “I go to court on Tuesday. They’re going to try and give me 30 days because I won’t talk.”
The Dip Set general said his cooperation was not necessary because there was a witness at the scene of the shooting, where Cam was shot once in each arm.
“There was a D.C. cop present right behind my car when the shooting took place,” he said. “You also have a cellular telephone, a car and fingerprints, but you have nobody to arrest? Why do you need to talk to me? Basically, I’m going to jail for being shot.”

The Harlem native, born Cameron Giles, violated his probation stemming from a 2004 criminal weapons possession conviction by going to Washington without permission from the New York City Department of Probation, and by breaking a traffic law. A spokesman for the New York probation department would not comment on Killa Cam’s claim that NY officials were being pressured by Washington police.
When asked about reports that his probation violation would be overlooked if he co-operated with investigators, Cam replied adamantly, “Yeah, but I’m not talking about the shooting. I’ll just go do the 30 days.”
Cam also took the opportunity under the spotlight to comment on his Jay-Z diss track, You Gotta Love It, which takes swipes at Hova’s fashion sense, his girl and his lyrical ability. Yet, Cam isn’t afraid of a fallout with the Def Jam head honcho.
“I’m ready for whatever,” he said about Jigga’s impending reaction. “Do what you’re going to do.”
