Molly O’Malia did not tell Tyga she was 17, attorney Gloria Allred says during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX.

On January 5, TMZ published what it says were screen shots of text images between Tyga and O’Malia, who is 14.

Allred says that O’Malia did not send the text messages in question.

“She denies that that is her text message,” Allred says during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “Molly has been the victim of hacking and identity theft and that is something that she has reported to the police. She’s had a major issue with that and that is not her message.”

Allred also says she had taken no legal action against Tyga.

“We have filed no claim, we have filed no lawsuit against Tyga,” she says. “As you can see from the statements [we released in December], our main concern was OK! Magazine.”

In December, OK! published a story that said Tyga and O’Malia were in contact. Allred says that she has not filed anything against OK! Magazine.

In her December press conference, O’Malia detailed what she says was the chronology of her correspondence with Tyga.

“Tyga contacted me first,” O’Malia said at the time. “He direct-messaged me on Instagram. I knew who he was, but I was surprised that he was contacting me. I thought that it could possibly be about my music but he did not mention that in his initial communication. I thought that was strange but I was thinking he would bring it up in his next message to me. However, he didn’t mention in the next message.”

Allred says she does not have knowledge that Tyga asked O’Malia to send her music.

“As I indicated in my statement, in the first two messages he sent her, there was no discussion of any music,” Allred says.

“To my knowledge,” Allred adds, “he never requested any. She never sent any.”

Furthermore, Tyga and O’Malia did not meet, Allred says.

“He initiated the contact and she terminated the contact when she became uncomfortable,” says Allred, who adds that she’s seen all the messages that O’Malia indicates were the entire interaction between Tyga and O’Malia.

Allred also says O’Malia’s age was not a secret.

“It was clear on her profile that she was 14,” Allred says. “That has always been clear on her profile.”

When asked if Tyga had done anything illegal, Allred says, “We’re not making that allegation.”

Gloria Allred Discusses Claims Made By Bobo Norco Against Molly O’Malia

Bobo Norco, a rapper from Santa Rosa, California, also claims he has text messages from O’Malia where she allegedly tells him that she is 18.

Allred says these communications are not authentic.

“That is part of the identity theft of certain people having been posing as Molly or photoshopping her image without her knowledge, without her consent and it would be over her objection because that’s identity theft,” Allred says. “She never heard of Bobo before this was somehow recently published on the Internet that said she had communications with Bobo. She never heard of Bobo, never communicated with Bobo, didn’t know who Bobo was.”

Allred says that O’Malia and her mother will decide the next course of action regarding both the Tyga and the Bobo Norco situations.

“She and her mother understand their options and we don’t have any comment on what, if anything, they plan to do next,” Allred says.
