Daz Dillinger is going to have legal fees coming out his backside. He’s already in a case against his former employer, Suge Knight and his Death Row label, and now he has to deal with Tupac’s mom.

Afeni Shakur, mother of the late Tupac Shakur, is suing Daz and attempting to block distribution of Makaveli & Dillinger: Don’t Go to Sleep, an EP featuring Tupac and Daz. The record was to be released around Christmas by Daz’s DPG label, but Mrs. Shakur claims that she owns all Tupac’s recorded material and therefore this amounts to copyright infringement. She says that Daz does not have her permission to use her son’s tracks.

DPG is already taking orders for the EP, which was only to be printed in a limited run of 2,000. The original release date was for the end of December, but the outcome and delays of this lawsuit will likely mean that the EP will come late, if at all.
