This year’s Source Awards have come and gone with only minor troubles like a disappointed Luke and a busted Benzino, but the legacy of the brawl-ridden 2000 Awards still lives on.

LA’s DJ Quik and emcee Hi-C have filed a lawsuit against The Source, who put on the event at which the two were assaulted outside a Pasadena concert hall. The City of Pasadena and the Pasadena Police Department are also named as defendants in the case.

Hi-C and Quik were assaulted on the red carpet outside of the awards ceremony, and allege that the defendants were responsible because they did not take adequate security measures. The pair are suing for damages for the extreme pain, loss of hearing and medical expenses that they suffered from the beatdown. There is no word as to how much the lawsuit is worth just yet.
