Two men have been charged in the murder of Detroit rapper Dex Osama, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Otis Davis, 46, and Dietrick Odums, 31, face charges of open murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, felony firearm and assault with intent to murder.
Odums’ defense attorney says that his client was on the scene of the shooting, but did not kill the rapper.
Dex Osama’s girlfriend, Chantell Sturdivant, testified Friday (October 23) in the preliminary examination for the two suspects. She said that she was working at the Crazy Horse strip club the night of the rapper’s death. It was supposedly the first time he saw her at work. She was preparing to dance for a customer when Osama, born Byron Cox, signaled that he did not approve and then poured champagne on her.

Osama was shot at approximately 1:30 a.m. outside of the club. Sturdivant said she heard one gunshot from her dressing room inside the club, but did not see who fired the gun.
The rapper was a friend of Meek Mill‘s. The Philadelphia emcee paid tribute to Dex Osama on Instagram when he passed.
