Kanye West announced his promise to run for President of the United States in 2020 at the MTV’s Video Music Awards in late August.
“I don’t know what I’m finna lose after this,” Kanye West says during his Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs. “It don’t matter, though; It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth,” West said. “And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
Current presidential candidate Hillary Clinton also offers West her full support and offered some advice.
“Well, if I’m going for my second term, to wait four years,” Clinton says. “But if I’m not…be sure he has comfortable shoes because there’s a lot of walking involved,” Clinton said during a recent interview with Extra, according to the New York Daily News.
