Kendrick Lamar Close To Settling “Rigamortus” Lawsuit; Top Dawg Responds

Court documents say that Kendrick Lamar is close to reaching a settlement in the lawsuit over “Rigamortus,” VIBE reports.

“Parties report that they have reached a settlement and are awaiting two signatures,” the document reads. The case could be closed as soon as this week.

Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith responded to the story on Twitter, questioning the sources.

“who did y’all reach out 2 from my company?” he writes.

Willie Jones III and Eric Reed sued the Compton, California rapper last year for incorporating the instrumentation from their song “The Thorn” into his cut from Section.80. The jazz musicians claim they were not credited or given compensation for the use of the song and are seeking $1 million in damages.

Lamar is also facing a lawsuit over the image used in the single artwork for “Blacker The Berry.”
