Ja Rule’s third album, titled Pain is Love, is scheduled to hit stores on October 9th of this year. The Murderer’s first single has just been released called “Livin’ It Up”. The track samples the legendary Stevie Wonder’s “Do I Do” which guests Def Soul R&B artist Case singing the hook.
The song was originally recorded for Rule’s Rule 3:36 album but Stevie initially turned down the use of the sample. When asked why all of a sudden Stevie allowed use of the song, JA himself sayed “I sold some records”. He then added “Nah, maybe (my first album) didn’t reach too many people. Rule 3:36 reached a lot more people and maybe Stevie got a chance to hear my music and said ‘This guy’s alright.'”
