Eminem, Kanye West & Drake’s Favorite Emcees Examined

Green Label has curated a new list examining a variety of Hip Hop artists and their favorite emcees.

Among the artists looked into was Chicago native Kanye West.

“We all know that Kanye West isn’t one to throw around compliments lightly,” the piece says. “In fact, without racking your brains, it’s pretty difficult to pinpoint a time when Yeezy did offer praise to one of his peers. That changed during an interview with Clique TV earlier this year when Kanye, in a cryptic-esque Kanye kind of way, praised Young Money’s Drake.‘I look at Drake as an amazing sparring partner,’ he said. Now, that doesn’t sound like much praise, but it’s from Kanye, so it is.

“In addition to this, back in late 2013, Mr. West gave Drake major props during a Yeezus tour performance in Toronto, Canada,” the article continues. “While addressing the crowd and thanking Drizzy for coming out and performing the night before, Kanye dropped some major approval.‘I want to thank the rap God Drake for coming out tonight,’ he said.”
