Buckshot has issued a statement after a video showing the legendary rapper being viciously assaulted in Brooklyn went viral.
The brutal clip made its rounds over the weekend, and shows the Black Moon member hunched over on the ground asking for an ambulance. He was later hospitalized.

In a statement issued to AllHipHop on Tuesday (November 5), Buckshot thanks his fans for their concern and vowed to be brought to justice over the matter, which he said is part of an ongoing dispute.
“To all my friends, fans, and supporters — thank you for reaching out during this difficult time,” he said. “Recently, I was the victim of a violent assault involving multiple individuals armed with weapons, including handguns. This attack stems from ongoing disputes over my property, where I am the rightful owner but have faced issues with unauthorized occupants who escalated the situation to violence.”

He continued: “As someone who’s been an entertainer and part of this community for over 30 years, I am deeply disturbed that such an incident could happen in New York—a city I love and call home. Violence like this has no place here, and I’m calling on everyone to come together to make New York safer and better for all of us.
“I am currently recovering from my injuries and am working closely with my legal team and law enforcement to ensure this matter is handled properly. We are committed to seeing justice served, and I ask for your patience and support as the legal process unfolds. Again, thank you for all the well wishes. Let’s put an end to violence and help rebuild a stronger, safer New York.”

A veteran in the game with, as he mentioned, over 30 years in entertainment, Buckshot recalled 2Pac once defending him against Suge Knight in an interview a few years back.
“Suge has something going on in Vegas and everybody from Death Row had to be there,” he told VladTV. “Snoop and everybody had already loaded the plane but 2Pac hadn’t loaded the plane yet and 2Pac had all of us with him so Suge told 2Pac he has to board the plane, we have to go…
“And Tupac said, ‘I’m not boarding the plane unless all my peoples board with me,’ which was us. And Suge was like, ‘You’re kidding me. You’ve got to board this plane and have them dudes get on another flight and get down there however they going to get down there’… And Pac was like, ‘If I don’t go none of us go.’ I’m hearing this and I’m like, ‘No Pac, just go!’”
He continued by describing the night of that incident and how Tupac was personally distraught. Buckshot says he was unable to record in concern for his friend.

“He tore up the plane tickets and he was mad as a motherfucker,” he said. “I put my head down because I knew it was going to be a bad night. We went straight to the studio and we recorded this song called ‘Never Call You Bitch Again’ and I kept trying to record my verses and I kept looking at Pac through the glass window and he was mad, arguing and he looked discomforted, just fucked up.
“I dropped my headphones and said, ‘I can’t record man. I’m sorry man. This ain’t the night. Seeing you and this whole [situation]. I’m trying but I can’t. I can’t act like none of this shit is affecting me.’ And that was probably one of the illest nights ’cause I’ve never did that before. Never had somebody affect me so bad I couldn’t record.”
