Lil Kim isn’t heading to jail without a fight. The rapper, who is two months away from serving her one year and one day sentence, has filed a $6 million civil lawsuit against her former friend and Junior M.A.F.I.A affiliate Lil Cease.
Cease was one of two people that provided wounding testimony and helped land Kim in jail for federal perjury and conspiracy charges. The lawsuit accuses Cease (real name James Lloyd) of using the Queen Bee’s name and likeness to promote the forthcoming “The Chronicles of Junior M.A.F.I.A. Part II: Reloaded,” tentatively scheduled for release later this month. Kim hasn’t been a part of the group for four years.
The suit claims Kim never granted Cease permission to exploit her name and image for the DVD production. It also states that Cease teased interviews that explained the M.A.F.I.A.’s involvement in the recent trial.
A hearing regarding the trial is expected to be later this month. At that time, a judge will decide whether to shelve the DVD’s release.
