Memphis Bleek stopped by Shade 45 to share his thoughts on TIDAL and talk about his absence from Hip Hop.
Bleek admitted to being biased about his opinion on the music streaming service owned by his one-time mentor Jay Z. But he seemed satisfied with its features.
“I’m not familiar with none of these streaming sites,” he said. “I’m new to all of ‘em. TIDAL, to me, is worth it. I pay my $10 subscription as well. It ain’t like I got the free account and, on my app. I have every album I didn’t even ask for. I can listen to any album that just was released. I got over 50 new albums if they dropped today, they all on my phone right now.”
Bleek also tells the hosts that he’s been recording new music. He says its been difficult to focus on a project because his team tends to worry about other endeavors like Roc Nation sports, Dusse and TIDAL.

“People made so much money, to tell them to go backwards and get back on the grind, they looking at you like you talking Chinese,” he says. “When we in the office, it’s other business we not even discussing music.”
Still, Bleek says he’s “definitely doing a mixtape this summer.”
“An EP and album can wait,” he says. “I gotta put the gloves on and get back in the ring and knock a few heads off real quick.”
