According to police reports, the rapper, born Barry Reese, was accompanied by two other men, all armed with .40 and .45 calibre handguns, 9mm pistols, 7.62mm rifles, and AK47 rifles. The incident is alleged to have happened at around 1am on April 15, behind a house in Reese’s neighborhood in northwest Philly.
Cassidy and the second shooter, Abdul West, 23, are both wanted for the murder of Desmond Hawkins, 22, who died from a gunshot wound to the back. The other two male victims escaped with minor gunshot injuries, and were treated in nearby hospitals, leading to their subsequent release. All three victims were reportedly unarmed at the time of the shooting.
A third suspect involved in the incident is yet to be identified, and although police are not certain as to what the link is between Cassidy and other two gunmen, all three are believed to have ‘known each other’. The warrant for the arrest of the two known suspects was issued on June 8.
Cassidy’s attorney, Michael Giampietro, has stated that he expects his client to turn himself in to the authorities on Friday morning, upon which time he will be charged with conspiracy to murder, possession of weapons and homicide.
