Iggy Azalea Quits Twitter, Calls The Internet “The Ugliest Reflection Of Mankind”

Late yesterday (February 19), Iggy Azalea announced via her Twitter account that she was taking a break from social media, citing the Internet’s “petty” tendencies as the primary reasons for doing so.

Via a string of tweets, the Grand Hustle recording artist spoke about how the Internet’s “negative” ways have goaded her into becoming an angry individual, and that she could not allow it to have such an impact. In an attempt to counter this, she announced that she would be taking herself off social media.

“Just got back from a great vacation, came online and saw apparently it’s shocking and unheard of to be a woman and have cellulite. Lol,” Azalea wrote. “I just want to have peace and relaxation time without a perve with long distance lense hiding out taking pictures, everyone deserves peace.

“I feel the hatred and pettiness i see online at all times is at making me become an angry person and I cannot be that,” she added. “To become nasty because of the way I feel iam treated would be a disservice to my fans and I promise i will try to keep smiling.”

Azalea then revealed that she was taking a break from social media and that her management team were being installed to run her accounts from now on.

“But I also want to let my fans know iam taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining,” Azalea says. “My management will tweet/run my accounts from today onwards with updates etc unless any message is signed -IA. Love you all. Peace out!”

She then added that, “The Internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is.”

    1. She should.. typing these 20 tweets in a row in the span of 5 minutes. Then blames the internet.. Bi*** the internet didn’t put a gun to your head and make you type all that or read all that.

      1. A guy who contributes a fuck load more to people than this stupid bitch. Also, not a guy who’s mad at the world for not liking me.
Nice try though, I’m sure you thought that was smart.

      2. Whether you like her or not you know thats not true. She’s providing jobs. She’s inspiring the youth to chase their dreams. She’s making records for people to have fun to. You just hating online.

      3. She’s getting rich off of selling horseshit messages that are at best utter nonsense, and at worst, poisonous to kids. Yeah, so much fun.

    2. She hit the nail on the head! The internet is a hiding place for cowards. Behind your computer screen, you become Mike Tyson.

    3. Well thats GOOD! now if you can only QUIT MUSIC in general that would be even more super. I still can’t believe this non-talent wigga called herself a “musician”

    4. This shows that when blacks fight against a common enemy (white people) things can be accomplished. It’s sad how plastic pieces like Macklemore and Azalea are even uttered when discussing rap and hip hop music. I really do wanna introduce Azalea to Afroman.

      1. Oh boy, here we go with the race card again… slavery ended hundreds of years ago, build a bridge and get over it… everything that goes wrong, “Oh, it’s because I’m black”… stfu, what a cop out

      2. I’m white and against Iggy, Iggy is not HIP HOP and Blacks does not = Hip Hop.

People in Europe and China, Japan etc are keeping it more Hip Hop than the imbeciles in America

      3. Where the hell did I mention slavery? Fool, I don’t live in the past nor did I ever mention anything about the past. All I said is that white people should stay out of our game, same as what people actually in the game said as well.

      4. @spanish king no one brought up anything about slavery, you did. just because things happened in the past doesnt mean they dont still effect today’s society. how easy is it to say “build a bridge and get over it” when slavery, Jim crow, and segregation still has its ramifications today.

      5. Black people are just haters technically. Mad that they will never run this shit and be successful like white people. So they hate, because they are jealous. And you know what, I would be mad if I was them too!

    5. I’m not a Fan of Iggy Azelea at all but she is human and i’ve seen the amount of hate she’s endured in a short period of time is unfair. If you don’t like her that’s one thing but to constantly harass her and belittle her is unnecessary and uncalled for. She is human and has feelings, Nobody would want to deal with that celeb or not. Ppl on the Internet in blogs and twitter are pieces of shit most of the time and need to get a life and stay out of everyone elses. I fell sorry for her.

    6. She may not represent the true essence of hip hop, but for people to say that she is poisoning the rap game is utter foolishness. 75% of rappers poison the game with their gun talk, bitch talk and drug talk. GTFOH

    7. Lol her time is almost over. Once the media forgets about her people will also forget. This chick was never really as famous as people thought, just over blown by the media.

      1. stfu white boy. next thing you know you gonna start talking about the pillars of hip hop and the brand of your backpack. gtfo you don’t know a thing about this music

    8. Now that Iggy has built a wall to keep out the haters and the Trolls, they won’t know what to do with themselves, their heads are going to explode.
Most of the other white female singers have people who handle their Twitter and Instagram censoring out the hate so only approved messages get posted, so Iggy was stupid not to do this before.
Iggy is now a real white American, when certain types/Trolls start coming around they move into gated communities, with her management as security guards keeping out the Trolls.
