Rapper/ actor/ talk show hostess Queen Latifah is adding another front-loaded title to her name: spokesperson. The Queen is lending her support to the campaign Be Aggressive! Control Type 2 Diabetes.
Queen Latifah lost her great-grandmother to the disease, which is the most common form of diabetes. The Be Aggressive! Campaign is intended to educate sufferers about their disease and to take direct action to fight it. The campaign is sponsored by the Bristol-Myers Squibb drug company, who recently introduced Glucovance and Glucophage, drugs that control the disease. The campaign also features a “Glucovan” which cruises public events beginning August 10.
