Houston news radio station News92.1 FM aired its last news broadcast October 8 and now plays now plays a 24-hour format of Beyonce songs.
“This difficult decision is a result of sustained poor ratings performance and significant financial losses over the past three years,” the station says in a press release.
The radio station said it was unable to sustain itself in the news radio format.
“Unfortunately, the market hasn’t shown a sustainable appetite for news radio, but each of you motivated us daily to produce a high-quality news program,” the press release says. “Together, we made history.”
