After years of touring and providing sweet, eclectic sounds for the Black Eyed Peas, The Beat Pharmacie is venturing out into the world of music on their own.

The Beat Pharmacie follows in the tradition of great live hip-hop bands like The Roots, Herbaliser and their Los Angeles brethren Ozomatli. The group will soon begin touring on their own and their debut LP called Metropolis will soon be released, at first only on the group’s website www.beatpharmacie.com. There is no word on any distribution deals that may be in the works.

The band consists of drummer Terence Yoshiaki, guitarist George Pajon, saxophonist Tim Izo, percussionist Chuck Prada, bassist Mike Fratantuno, and Printz Board, who plays keyboard and trumpet. Look for the Black Eyed Peas to make some vocal contributions.
